Rahul Gandhi Seeks Answers After NSUI’s DUSU Election Defeat
Rahul Gandhi called two leaders of the Congress student group NSUI to a meeting.
The leaders were Kanhaiya Kumar and Vinod Jakhar.
The meeting happened after NSUI lost the Delhi University student elections.
NSUI did not win a seat on the main student panel.
The report says this was the first such loss in more than ten years.
Gandhi wanted the leaders to explain why the group lost.
The meeting came while Gandhi was conducting a student outreach campaign.
It also happened as opposition parties prepared to question the Election Commission about changes to voter lists.
Rahul Gandhi summoned NSUI in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar and president Vinod Jakhar on Monday.
The meeting followed the NSUI’s defeat in the Delhi University Students’ Union elections.
The organization failed to win a central-panel seat for the first time in more than a decade, according to the report.
Gandhi sought explanations from the two leaders about the election loss.
