Mutual Funds Launch Gold ETF Funds
Two companies, The Wealth Company and Bandhan Mutual Fund, have started new investment funds that let people invest in gold and silver without having to worry about storing or insuring physical metals.
These funds are called Gold ETF Fund of Funds.
Most of the money in these funds will be used to buy units of other gold and silver-related funds, with a small part kept in safe, short-term investments.
The funds aim to follow the price of gold and silver in India and offer different ways to invest, including small regular amounts.
The person managing the fund has a lot of experience in gold investments.
The funds are open for new investments until January 20 and January 23.
Mutual funds are also shifting to value the gold exchange-traded funds through MCX polled domestic spot prices rather than relying on London Bullion and Metal Association (LBMA) prices.
This change is expected to provide a better value to domestic investors and reduce currency risk.
The Wealth Company Mutual Fund has launched the Gold ETF Fund of Fund (FoF), an open-ended scheme providing gold exposure through a mutual fund structure.
Bandhan Mutual Fund has announced the launch of the Bandhan Gold ETF FoF and Bandhan Silver ETF FoF, open-ended schemes designed to provide investors with an easy, transparent, and cost-efficient way to participate in gold and silver.
The funds will invest 95–100% of their assets in units of their respective ETFs, with the remainder in debt and money market instruments.
The schemes aim to track domestic gold and silver prices while avoiding challenges of physical ownership, such as storage and purity concerns.
The funds offer Direct and Regular plans with Growth and IDCW options, with no entry or exit load; minimum investment varies, with SIPs starting at ₹100 for Bandhan Gold ETF FoF and ₹250 for The Wealth Company Gold ETF FoF.
