Rolls-Royce Nears Deal to Offload £4 Billion Pension Pot

Rolls-Royce Nears Deal to Offload £4 Billion Pension Pot

Rolls-Royce, the company that makes aircraft engines, is close to a deal to get rid of its UK pension plan.

This means they will pay an insurance company, likely Pension Insurance Corp., to take over the responsibility of paying pensions to their UK employees.

This deal will remove around £4 billion of debt from Rolls-Royce's books.

The UK is seeing a surge in companies doing this because interest rates are higher, making it cheaper for companies to hand over their pension obligations.

If it goes through, this will be the biggest such deal in the UK this year.
