CBI Court Acquits Haryana Judge, Parents in Wife's Death Case
A long time ago, a woman named Geetanjali was found dead with bullet injuries.
Her husband, who was a judge, and his parents were accused of causing her death because they allegedly wanted more dowry.
The police and a special court investigated the case for many years.
The prosecution said that the husband's gun was found near the body and that the bullets came from his gun.
They also said that the family had asked for more dowry.
But the defense said that the accused were not involved and that the case was not about dowry but about murder.
After listening to both sides, the court decided that the accused were not guilty and let them go.
A special CBI court in Panchkula acquitted Ravneet Garg, a Haryana judicial officer, and his parents of charges related to the death of his wife, Geetanjali.
Geetanjali was found dead with bullet injuries on July 17, 2013, at the Gurugram police lines.
The prosecution alleged dowry demands and murder, presenting evidence of a licensed revolver belonging to Garg and ballistic reports.
The defense argued that the accused were falsely implicated and that the evidence did not support the charges of dowry death.
The court acquitted all three accused after hearing the arguments and examining the evidence.
