Viral Video Sparks Row Over Alleged Fire Tender Car Washing
A video from Singrauli appears to show a fire truck spraying water on a politician’s car.
The politician is BJP MLA Ramniwas Shah.
The video reportedly shows municipal workers using the truck’s hose.
Fire tenders are normally used for emergencies such as fires.
This made opposition leaders and many social-media users question whether public equipment was used for a private car.
Shah said he was not at home when the video was recorded.
He said he had told his driver to bring the car quickly but did not know what happened afterward.
He also suggested that the vehicle might have been delivering water because some residences had a supply problem.
Municipal Commissioner Savita Pradhan said she was unaware of the incident, and the reports do not establish why the fire tender was there.
