PGIMER Chandigarh Successfully Treats Tallest Patient Ever
A very tall police officer, 7'7" tall, had surgery at PGIMER in Chandigarh.
He had a tumor in his brain causing him to grow too much, a condition called acromegaly.
Doctors removed the tumor through his nose using a special method that didn't require a big cut.
The surgery was successful, and his hormone levels are now returning to normal, helping him feel better.
A 35-year-old police officer underwent surgery for acromegaly at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
The patient's height was 7 feet 7 inches, making him the tallest patient PGIMER has treated.
Doctors used an endoscopic trans-nasal approach to remove a pituitary tumor.
The surgery was led by Dr. Rajesh Chhabra, with a neuroanaesthesia team led by Dr. Rajeev Chauhan.
Post-surgery, the patient's hormone levels normalized, with marked symptom improvement.
