SGPC Questions Police Action at Golden Temple
The police took two men, Satwinder Singh and his son Prince, from the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
The SGPC, which manages the temple, said this was not right because the police did not tell them first.
The police said they were following information about a crime and that there was a misunderstanding with the temple's security team.
The family of the men does not know why they were taken and says they are poor and have no criminal links.
The police have not yet told the family why the men were arrested.
Police picked up two men from the Golden Temple premises without informing the SGPC.
SGPC termed the police action as inappropriate and against devotee sentiments.
The men, Satwinder Singh and his son Prince, were performing parikrama at the Darbar Sahib.
Police claimed the action was based on information about a crime and denied involvement of Tarn Taran CIA team.
Family of the arrested men expressed ignorance about the reason for their arrest and denied any criminal links.
