GMR Takes Over Delhi Airport Cargo from Celebi After Security Clearance Revoked
The Indian government revoked the security clearance of Celebi, a Turkish company that handled cargo and ground services at several airports, including Delhi.
This happened due to national security concerns.
As a result, GMR, another company, took over cargo operations at Delhi airport.
Celebi, which had been in India for 15 years, is challenging this decision in court.
They are contesting the revocation and seeking legal relief.
The case is ongoing.
GMR Airports Ltd (GAL) has taken over cargo operations at Delhi Airport after Celebi's security clearance was revoked.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) revoked Celebi's clearance on May 15 in the 'interest of national security'.
Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), a GMR Group subsidiary, now manages all cargo functions.
Celebi, a Turkish firm, previously operated at nine Indian airports and managed significant cargo.
