EPFO Credits 8.25% Interest Early for FY2025-26
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has started crediting 8.25% annual interest for the financial year 2025-26 to its subscribers' accounts earlier than usual.
This is the third consecutive year with the same interest rate.
The early credit is possible due to the new CITES 2.01 platform, which automates many processes.
Subscribers can check their updated balances through various official channels like the EPFO Passbook, UMANG app, SMS service, or missed call facility.
Even if the interest doesn't appear immediately, there's no need to worry as the crediting process is phased and the delay doesn't affect the interest amount.
The interest is calculated on the monthly running balance, ensuring members receive the full amount due.
EPFO has credited 8.25% annual interest for FY2025-26 to subscribers' accounts by July 15, 2026.
The early credit is due to the upgraded CITES 2.01 platform, which automates processes and improves service delivery.
Subscribers can verify the credited interest through the EPFO Passbook, UMANG app, SMS service, or missed call facility.
The interest is calculated on the monthly running balance and is not affected by the administrative delay in crediting.
EPFO assures that the delay in crediting does not result in any loss of interest for the subscribers.
