Parliament Panel Finds Ex-Judge Yashwant Varma Guilty in Cash Row

Parliament Panel Finds Ex-Judge Yashwant Varma Guilty in Cash Row

A very important judge in India named Yashwant Varma used to work at the Delhi High Court.

One night in March 2025, a fire broke out at the house where he lived.

Firefighters who came to put out the fire found a lot of burnt money in a storage room.

A group of people from Parliament was asked to find out what happened.

They found him guilty of three things: not explaining the money, not keeping the evidence safe, and giving answers that did not tell the whole truth.

The judge could not explain where the money came from or who owned it.

The group also said some evidence was not kept safe and the money later disappeared, but they found no proof that the judge personally took it.

The judge said the money might have been planted and that someone might have set up a conspiracy, but no proof was found for that.

After all this, the judge quit his job, so the removal process was no longer needed.
