Farmer Registry Proposed Mandatory for Future PM-KISAN Installments

Farmer Registry Proposed Mandatory for Future PM-KISAN Installments

The government is creating a special ID for farmers in Andhra Pradesh.

This is called the farmer registry.

Officials say it may be required for farmers to receive future PM-KISAN payments.

Nearly 80% of the state’s listed beneficiaries have completed the registration.

Officials said 7,34,215 beneficiaries still need to register.

Local officers will contact these farmers and help them complete the process.

They will also check records for deceased or possibly ineligible beneficiaries.

The agriculture department is reviewing crops because of current El Niño conditions.
