India's First Bullet Train Trial in 2027
India is getting its first bullet train, which will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
The trial run is planned for August 2027 on a 66-kilometre stretch between Surat and Bilimora.
This train is very fast and will take about 2 hours and 7 minutes to go from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, which is much faster than regular trains.
The train will start from a special station in Sabarmati, which is designed to make it easy for people to switch between different types of transport.
The project is being done with help from Japan, which has very safe and efficient train technology.
The train stations in Gujarat are expected to be finished on time, and the project includes many advanced engineering features to make it safe and reliable.
India's first bullet train trial run is scheduled for August 2027 on a 66-kilometre stretch between Surat and Bilimora.
The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (HSR) project spans 508 kilometres and aims to reduce travel time to approximately 2 hours and 7 minutes.
The bullet train will start from the Sabarmati multi-modal hub, integrating railway, Metro, and bus transit systems.
The project is executed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) with technical and financial cooperation from Japan.
Advanced engineering innovations, including an undersea tunnel near Mumbai and earthquake-resistant structures, are being employed to ensure safety and efficiency.
