Mexico Seeks Evidence After US Ambassador Reports Border Gunfire

The US ambassador said shots were fired at US Coast Guard workers near the border.

Mexico’s president said her government has not seen evidence that the shots came from Mexico.

She said Mexican security forces had not detected any shots fired toward the United States.

Mexico asked US officials to share evidence.

Mexico also announced a border security effort called Operation Mirror.

It will use 500 troops, helicopters, drones and anti-drone equipment.

Sheinbaum said Mexico suggested matching operations with US agencies to help prevent problems.

She has rejected the idea of US military intervention in Mexico.
