Online Mutual Fund Transactions Surge
More people are using the internet to buy mutual funds.
Big companies like HDFC and Nippon India say most of their transactions are now online.
This is because people and the companies that help them invest are using more technology.
Even though many small investments are online, big investors still prefer doing things the old way, with paper forms.
This shows that while online investing is growing, there are still some people who like the traditional way.
HDFC AMC's electronic transactions rose to 96% in September 2025 from 93% a year ago.
Nippon India's digital transactions increased to 75% in September 2025 from 56% a year earlier.
UTI Mutual Fund's digital sales dipped to 89.52% in Q3 2025 from 94.4% in Q3 2024, but equity/hybrid scheme sales rose to 41.27% from 37.61%.
Digital transactions accounted for 60% of transactions but only 21% of value, with high net worth individuals preferring physical processes.
Fintech platforms have become a vital channel for mutual funds, registering 15 million SIPs in the last six months.
