EPFO Campaign Offers PF Coverage to Previously Excluded Workers
The government has started a special campaign to help some workers receive provident fund benefits.
It is for people who should have been covered between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2026, but were left out.
The worker must still be employed by the same establishment when the employer applies.
The worker must also be alive.
Former employees cannot use the campaign to claim coverage after leaving their job.
Employers must check their old employment and wage records.
They must register eligible workers online and pay the required contributions.
If a worker’s share was never taken from their wages, that share may be waived under the campaign rules.
Employees should ask their employer or HR team whether the enrolment process has started before October 31, 2026.
The Employees’ Enrolment Campaign 2026 covers eligible workers left outside PF between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2026.
The one-time campaign remains open until October 31, 2026.
Workers must be alive and still employed by the establishment when the employer makes the declaration.
Employees may qualify for a waiver of their PF contribution if it was not previously deducted from their wages.
Employers must register workers through face-authenticated UAN generation on UMANG and remit contributions through the ECR platform.
