NSE IPO Fully Subscribed on Day Two After Strong Demand
The National Stock Exchange of India is offering some of its shares to investors.
On the second day, investors requested slightly more shares than were available.
Large professional investors and wealthy individual investors showed the strongest demand.
Retail investors, or ordinary individual investors, had bought 66% of their reserved shares by that point.
On the first day, the IPO had been subscribed to only 43% overall.
The IPO is worth up to Rs 22,569 crore and is India's second-largest public issue after Hyundai Motor India's 2024 offering.
NSE had already raised Rs 6,746 crore from selected anchor investors before public bidding.
The sale is being made by existing shareholders, so the money will go to them rather than directly to NSE.
The offer closes on September 21, and reports give different expected listing dates of September 24 and September 25.
The Rs 22,569-crore NSE IPO was fully subscribed on its second bidding day, with bids for 8.88 crore shares against 8.86 crore shares offered.
Qualified institutional buyers subscribed 1.32 times their allocation, while non-institutional investors subscribed 1.37 times.
Retail investors subscribed 66% of their reserved portion on the second day, after 44% on the opening day.
The IPO is an offer for sale of up to 12.64 crore shares, with proceeds going to existing shareholders rather than NSE.
The issue closes on September 21, with reports differing on whether NSE shares will list on September 24 or September 25.
