NHAI Widens Road Near Subroto Park to Ease Dhaula Kuan Traffic
Imagine a road where traffic gets really stuck because it suddenly becomes narrower, like a funnel.
This is happening near the Subroto Park Air Force Station in Delhi.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is widening a part of this road that was only two lanes wide to make it four lanes.
This narrow spot was causing big traffic jams, especially for people going to the airport.
They are also moving some things like drains and a building to make space.
In addition to making the road wider, they are building a new bridge for people to walk over safely.
The work should be done in about six months, and it should make it much easier for cars to travel between Dhaula Kuan and the airport.
They are also trying to be good to the environment by planting trees and using special machines to reduce dust during construction.
NHAI has started widening a road near Subroto Park Air Force Station from 2 lanes to 4 lanes on the left-hand side towards Gurugram.
The project aims to eliminate a traffic bottleneck at the Parade Road underpass that causes significant delays, especially for airport-bound vehicles.
The narrowing of the road to two lanes was caused by a Metro pillar.
The project is expected to be completed in approximately six months and will improve connectivity between Dhaula Kuan and Delhi Airport.
Enhancements include a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) for pedestrian safety, an improved drainage system, and environmental measures like tree transplantation and pollution control.
