End-to-End Diaphragm Wall Considered for Medigadda Barrage Repairs
Officials are planning how to repair the damaged Medigadda barrage.
One idea is to build a strong underground wall across the entire barrage.
They may also strengthen and extend structures called stilling basins.
These basins help slow down fast floodwater.
Engineers are studying test results from Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla.
IIT Bombay and AFRY India are helping examine the results and design the repairs.
The final designs have not been submitted yet.
Officials expect them within two or three weeks.
They hope to start repairs in November or December and finish before the next monsoon in June 2027.
