Pakistan army chief's NDMA visit sparks civilian-military uproar

Pakistan army chief's NDMA visit sparks civilian-military uproar

A very important soldier in Pakistan, the army chief, went to visit a government office that helps people when there are floods.

He wanted to see how ready the country is for the rainy season and the big storms it can bring.

The office showed him a special computer tool that watches rivers and warns about floods.

Some people in Pakistan were not happy about this visit.

They said the army should not be in charge of things like flood safety because elected leaders are supposed to do that job.

They worried that the army is taking over too many jobs that belong to the civilian government.

People also pointed out that many soldiers and police officers have been hurt or killed in other parts of the country.

They wondered why the army leader was looking at weather computers instead of focusing on that.

This shows there is a big argument in Pakistan about who should be in charge of the country's important decisions.
