CISF Begins Security Operations at ISRO Propellant Complex
The Central Industrial Security Force, or CISF, has started protecting an important space facility in Maharashtra.
The facility is called the Propellant Complex, Rasayani.
It belongs to the Indian Space Research Organisation, or ISRO.
The complex makes an oxidiser used by several Indian launch vehicles.
These include PSLV, GSLV and LVM3.
Officials say the facility needs especially careful protection because it supports India’s space programme.
CISF will work with ISRO staff while the facility continues operating.
This is the 32nd important installation in Maharashtra guarded by CISF.
The Central Industrial Security Force was deployed Tuesday at ISRO’s Propellant Complex in Rasayani, Maharashtra.
The facility is the 32nd vital installation in Maharashtra to receive CISF security coverage.
The complex supplies earth-storable oxidiser for PSLV, GSLV and LVM3 launch vehicles.
ISRO’s Sanjay Jain handed the security key to CISF Assistant Commandant Ravi Teja R.
