WR to Enhance Seats for Senior Citizens on Local Trains
The Western Railway is making trains more comfortable for senior citizens.
They're going to change some luggage areas into seats just for them, to make travel easier.
This is happening because the Bombay High Court said they should do this.
Around 50,000 seniors ride these trains every day, so it will help a lot of people.
One compartment will have 14 seats and cost about 5.40 crore to change.
Western Railway (WR) is increasing seating for senior citizens on local trains.
The initiative aims to provide a more comfortable travel experience for older passengers.
Authorities will convert one or two luggage compartments per train into dedicated seating.
This is in response to a Bombay High Court order from last year.
The project to modify the compartments is estimated to cost approximately 5.40 crore.
