Tamil Nadu Governor Joins Modi's Intoxication-Free Youth Campaign
The Indian government started a new program called "Nasha Mukt Yuva" to help young people stay away from drugs.
On August 2, 2024, the governor of Tamil Nadu, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, joined a video meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch the program.
The governor gave a pledge to students at Sri Sairam Engineering College, asking them to promise not to use drugs.
The program is part of a bigger plan called Viksit Bharat, which wants India to grow and stay healthy.
The goal is to make young people leaders who spread good habits and keep their communities drug‑free.

The campaign, organized by My Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, aims to create a drug‑free India by engaging Gen‑Z.
