Prashant Kishor Promises Jobs for 10,000 Bankipur Youths
Prashant Kishor is a famous election expert who just became an elected leader, called an MLA, for a place named Bankipur in Bihar, India.
He won an election on August 3, which was a big surprise because a different party had won that area for 30 years.
After winning, he went on a 'thank you tour' to meet the people who voted for him.
He asked parents to bring the CVs, or job papers, of their grown-up children to his office.
He promised to help at least 10,000 young people find jobs, though one report says it will happen in three months and another says two years.
He also promised to make government schools much better within one year.
If the schools are still not good, he said he will pay for children to go to private schools.
He wants people to get their full ration of grain without paying bribes, and elderly people to receive their pension money.
He also spoke out against police using force on students who were protesting.
Kishor says he has been working for the people who elected him.
Prashant Kishor launched a 'gratitude tour' in Bankipur, asking families to send CVs of educated, unemployed youths to his office.
He promised jobs for at least 10,000 youths, though reports differ on the timeline - one article suggests three months, another says two years.
Kishor's August 3 bypoll win ended the BJP's three-decade dominance of Bankipur, a seat vacated by BJP president Nitin Nabin after his election to the Rajya Sabha.
He set a one-year deadline to improve government schools, vowing to pay private school fees for Bankipur children if standards do not improve.
He sought three months to ensure bribe-free ration cards with the full 5 kg of grain and the Rs 1,100 pension for residents over 60, and criticised lathi charges against student protesters in Delhi and Jharkhand.
