The Uttarakhand High Court has ordered that all mining vehicles must be fitted with GPS devices.
This is to help track the vehicles and collect data.

The report said that some vehicles showed they had traveled 55 kilometers in just 12 to 18 hours, which is not possible.
The court gave the state one week to follow these new rules.
