Mumbai's Ganesh Immersion Processions Begin Amid Chants and Drums

Mumbai's Ganesh festival reached its final day on Friday.

Devotees began taking Ganesh idols to immersion sites.

This tradition marks their farewell to Lord Ganesha after the 12-day festival.

People prayed and performed aarti at community pandals before leaving.

Processions included drum music, dancing and chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”

Some people showered the idols with flowers and gulal.

Large crowds gathered in Lalbaug to watch the celebrations.

Many processions moved toward Girgaon Chowpatty and other immersion locations.

Police and city workers arranged ponds, lifeguards, ambulances and medical teams to help keep people safe.
