Airtel Money Begins London Trading at £5.3 Billion Valuation

Airtel Money is a digital financial services business that operates across Africa.

Its shares began conditional trading on the London Stock Exchange on October 9, 2026.

The shares were priced at £1.96 each, valuing the company at about £5.3 billion, or $7 billion.

The IPO mainly sells shares that current shareholders already own, rather than creating new shares for the company to sell.

Mastercard Asia/Pacific may offer some extra shares, which could bring the total offering to £582 million.

The International Finance Corporation received shares worth £67.2 million as part of its investment commitment.

Full, unconditional trading is expected to begin on October 14.

The company says it wants to make financial services easier to access and connect more people and businesses in Africa to the formal financial system.
