Nashik Signs Five-Year MoU to Strengthen Heat Resilience

Nashik is preparing for hotter weather and heat-related illnesses.

The city has signed a five-year agreement with NRDC India.

Nashik is one of 12 Indian cities chosen for a pilot heat-resilience project.

The project has a grant of ₹5 crore.

IIM Nagpur will help the city plan how to use the money.

Officials want to map the hottest and most vulnerable areas.

They also plan to provide cooling shelters, shade and drinking water.

Hospitals will prepare better for people who become sick because of the heat.

Special safety plans will also be made for the large crowds expected at the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027.
