Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music: India’s Best Picks
The guide compares five popular music apps available in India.
Spotify is best at suggesting new songs and working across many devices.
Apple Music is best for people who want high-quality sound and use Apple devices.
YouTube Music is useful for finding live performances, covers and unusual tracks from YouTube.
Amazon Prime Music can be a cheaper choice for people who already pay for Amazon Prime.
JioSaavn is especially good for Bollywood and regional Indian music.
Each service has some downsides, such as advertisements, limited free features or inconsistent sound quality.
The best choice depends on the music, sound quality and devices a listener values most.
Spotify leads in personalised discovery, recommendations and cross-device control, but lacks lossless audio and Dolby Atmos.
Apple Music offers lossless and Dolby Atmos audio at no extra charge, but has no permanent free tier and limited algorithmic discovery.
YouTube Music provides access to official tracks, covers, live recordings and obscure uploads, though audio quality and search results vary.
Amazon Prime Music is a budget-friendly option for Prime members, while its standard bundled plan restricts several features.
JioSaavn suits regional Indian and Bollywood listeners, offering local-language content and caller-tune integration but a weaker international catalogue.
