Madhya Pradesh MLAs' Salary Hike Bill
The government of Madhya Pradesh is planning to increase the salary of its MLAs.
A committee has been formed to discuss this, and they will meet on December 1.
After the meeting, the bill will be presented in the assembly session.
Currently, MLAs earn Rs 30,000 as salary, and with other allowances, it totals Rs 1,10,000 per month.
The government is considering increasing this to Rs 1,65,000 or more.
This decision comes after the Leader of Opposition raised the issue, pointing out that government servants earn more than the elected representatives.
The Speaker of the Assembly directed the government to look into this matter, and the Chief Minister agreed to form a committee to review the salaries and allowances.
