KGMU Staff Threatens OPD Strike Over FIR Delay
Teachers, doctors, and staff at a big hospital in Lucknow, India, are very upset because the police are not filing a report about some people who caused trouble on campus.
These people, including a leader from a women's group, came to the hospital to protest against a doctor who was accused of doing bad things.
The hospital staff wants the police to take action and also make the campus safer because this has happened before.
They are planning to stop seeing regular patients if the police don't do something soon.
The hospital sees thousands of patients every day, so this is a big problem.
Faculty and staff at KGMU plan to stall OPD services from January 13 if police do not file an FIR within 24 hours.
The incident occurred when a group, including UP Women’s Commission chairman Aparna Yadav, tried to enter the V-C’s office.
The vandalism is linked to a case involving a doctor accused of sexual harassment and forced religious conversion.
Police have not filed an FIR yet, citing an ongoing investigation, but have increased security on campus.
The university has reported five similar incidents in the past 14 days, raising security concerns.
