PNB Targets ₹20,000 Crore Profit by FY27
Punjab National Bank (PNB) is very optimistic about its future profits.
The bank's boss, Ashok Chandra, believes that PNB will make more than ₹20,000 crore in profit by the financial year 2027.
This is because the bank has been making over ₹5,000 crore in profit every quarter for the past year.
To reach this goal, PNB is focusing on lending more to regular customers, farmers, small businesses, and self-help groups.
They also plan to start helping companies buy other companies, which is called acquisition finance, starting from the third quarter of this year.
The bank expects to grow its loans by 12-13% and deposits by 9-10% this year.
The Reserve Bank of India has set some rules for this kind of financing, including ensuring that the companies borrowing money have enough money and good credit ratings.
