NDMC Plans ₹163-Crore Power and Water Upgrade in Lutyens' Delhi
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is planning a big upgrade for electricity and water systems in Lutyens' Delhi.
They want to fix old power lines and transformers that are very old, some even from before India got independence.
This will help stop long power cuts in important areas like where the President and Prime Minister work.
The NDMC will also set up a new control room for water supply and buy new water tankers.
They will replace old water pipes to give cleaner water and stop leaks.
The total cost is about ₹163 crore, with the central government paying for most of it.
The NDMC will also give more money to help SC and ST employees with weddings and after the death of an employee.
These changes should make life better for people living and working in Lutyens' Delhi.
NDMC plans a ₹162.9 crore overhaul of power and water supply in Lutyens' Delhi.
829 outdated 11 kV panels will be replaced with modern gas-insulated systems.
A new 24×7 water supply control room will be set up at Old R K Ashram Marg.
12 new water tankers will be procured to bolster emergency water supply.
