Sitharaman Arrives in Asheville for G-20 Finance Ministers’ Meeting
Nirmala Sitharaman is India’s Finance Minister.
She traveled to Asheville in the United States for a meeting of finance ministers from the G-20 countries.
The meeting will discuss how to help the world economy grow while wars and conflicts continue in West Asia and Europe.
The United States is hosting the meeting.
Sitharaman had already met investors and business leaders in Chicago.
She also met William Brown, the head of 3M.
They talked about 3M doing more manufacturing, technology work, and research in India.
They also discussed using India’s skilled workers and improving supply chains.

The meeting, hosted by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, will focus on global growth amid conflicts in West Asia and Europe.
Sitharaman is visiting the United States from August 29 to September 2 as part of a broader nine-day Canada-US tour.
Before arriving in Asheville, she attended an investor roundtable in Chicago and met private-sector leaders.
She also met 3M Chairman and CEO William Brown to discuss investment, advanced manufacturing, research and development, and supply chains in India.
