Karnataka travel operators seek toll suspension, inquiry into NICE–BMICP project

Karnataka travel operators seek toll suspension, inquiry into NICE–BMICP project

The Karnataka State Travel Operators Association is a group of people who run travel and bus services.

They wrote to the Chief Minister and the Public Works Minister of Karnataka.

They are worried about a big road project called the NICE–BMICP project.

They say the road was not finished the way the government had agreed.

They asked the government to do a full and careful inquiry into the project.

They also want the government to check how land and other benefits given to the project were used.

Until the inquiry is finished, they want the government to stop collecting tolls from people using the road.

If the agreement was broken, they want the government to take over NICE Road and manage it through the Public Works Department.

They believe public roads and land should serve the public interest with transparency and fairness.
