NSUI Alleges Sinhgad Students Barred From DTE Protest
A student group called NSUI planned a protest in Pune about problems at Sinhgad Institute of Technology.
The group said students were not allowed to leave campus and join the protest.
Students complained about hostel cleanliness, health concerns, classes, teachers and other facilities.
Some students were also worried about a possible move from Narhe to Vadgaon.
They wanted the institute to explain how the move could affect studying, housing and travel.
NSUI asked the Directorate of Technical Education to inspect the institute.
The group said students should be able to raise concerns peacefully.
The institute’s website describes several facilities, including hostels and medical services.
The institute’s managing council did not provide a response to the reported allegations.
