Tiger Sighting Sparks Fear in East Godavari
A farmer in a village in East Godavari district saw a tiger and its baby.
This made people in nearby villages scared.
The forest officials told everyone to stay inside their homes and not go to their fields.
The officials didn't find any signs of the tiger but put up cameras just in case.
There are big forests nearby where the tiger might have come from.
Some farmers also said wild boars were bothering their fields, and the officials think the tiger might be hunting them.
Farmer Nagaraju reported seeing a tiger and its cub near Bhimolu village.
Forest officials advised residents to stay indoors and avoid fields from dawn to dusk.
No tiger pugmarks were found during the initial check by forest officials.
Six cameras were installed as a precautionary measure, to be functional from Monday.
Nearby reserve forests include Karakapadu (2,000 hectares) and Komatigunta (150 acres).
