27 Class 9 students beaten by seniors in Odisha hostel
At a school in India, some bigger kids hurt smaller kids.
The smaller kids were in Class 9 and the bigger kids were in Class 10.
This happened in the school dormitory, called a hostel, on a Sunday.
The bigger kids were angry because the younger ones came back late from the playground.
When the younger kids argued back, the older kids started hitting them.
After the younger kids told the teachers, the older kids hit them again with wooden bats.
The head teacher called the police and made a complaint.
The police came to the school, but the older kids had run away.
Now, the school leaders and local officials are investigating what happened.
They are also asking the head teacher to explain why this was allowed to happen.
Twenty-seven Class 9 students of the Government High School, Ravilkona in Odisha's Rayagada district were allegedly beaten by senior Class 10 students.
