Kerala Launches Energy Efficiency Plan
Kerala has launched a big plan to use less energy and more renewable sources like solar power.
They want to make 25,000 government buildings produce their own energy and even sell extra power back to the grid.
The state also plans to replace old streetlights with LED lights and set up more places to charge electric vehicles.
They aim to have all their energy come from renewable sources by 2040 and be completely carbon neutral by 2050.
Kerala is also getting 12,000 government vehicles to run on electricity.
This plan will help save money and make the state cleaner and greener.
Kerala unveils a comprehensive energy efficiency plan to reduce financial burden and promote renewable energy.
The state aims to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2040 and total carbon neutrality by 2050.
Nearly 25,000 government buildings will be converted into 'prosumers' by solarizing them and integrating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Kerala plans to replace conventional streetlights with LED lighting and expand public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
The state will electrify 12,000 government vehicles and explore Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology.
