Chandigarh Traffic Police Identifies Traffic-Prone Stretches
The Chandigarh Traffic Police has found five busy and congested roads in Chandigarh.
They want to make these roads safer and easier to drive on.
To do this, they had a big meeting with experts and officers.
They talked about how to make the roads better, like building flyovers and underpasses.
They also want to make sure people walking and riding bikes are safe.
The police will now make a report with all their ideas and give it to the people who can make these changes happen.
Some people are worried about how these changes might affect the city's heritage, but the police are trying to find the best solutions.
Chandigarh Traffic Police identified five major traffic-prone road stretches in the city.
A Road Safety Dialogue-cum-Workshop was organized to discuss safer road design and reduce crash severity.
Five dedicated teams conducted field surveys to assess traffic flow patterns and road design shortcomings.
Key recommendations include developing flyovers, new connectivity roads, and constructing underbridges and underpasses.
The feasibility of constructing underpasses at strategic locations will be explored, considering Chandigarh's heritage status.
