India's First Lithium Refinery in Nagpur to Boost Clean Energy
India is building its first lithium refinery and battery factory in Nagpur, led by Vardhaan Lithium.
This is a big step to help India make its own batteries for electric cars and storing energy from solar and wind.
The project costs a lot of money and will make a lot of lithium each year, along with batteries.
This will make India less dependent on getting these resources from other countries.
The new factory is part of the 'Make in India' plan, working with companies from other countries.
It will also create many new jobs and help boost the local economy in Maharashtra.
Vardhaan Lithium is building India's first lithium refinery and battery manufacturing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The project, with a Rs. 42,532 crore investment, aims to create a domestic lithium supply for electric vehicles and energy storage.
The facility will have a 60,000-tonne annual refining capacity and a 20 GWh battery production capacity.
The project aligns with the 'Make in India' initiative and involves collaborations with partners from the USA and Europe.
It is expected to generate jobs and support Maharashtra's role in the green industrial revolution.
