Bihar Cracks Down on Fertiliser Hoarding
The Bihar government is taking strong action against people who are hoarding or illegally storing fertilisers.
They have cancelled the licenses of 83 shops and filed legal cases against 31 others.
They also seized almost 2,000 bags of fertilisers in one area.
The government wants to make sure that farmers get their fertilisers on time and at the right price.
They are checking shops and godowns to make sure everything is fair.
The government says there is enough fertiliser for everyone and they will not allow any problems in the supply.
Bihar Agriculture Department has cancelled 83 licences and filed 31 FIRs against fertiliser shops for hoarding and illegal storage.
Over 1,956 fertiliser bags, including urea, SSP, and MOP, were seized in East Champaran during a major operation.
The government has sufficient fertiliser stocks for the rabi season, with 2.37 lakh metric tonnes of urea and other fertilisers available.
Special verification drives and inspections are being conducted to match stock records with actual stock at outlets.
Farmers are advised to purchase fertilisers only from authorised dealers and report any irregularities to local authorities.
