Alleged Slap Brings Delhi’s Rohini Court To Standstill

Rohini Court is usually a very busy place.

More than 70 judges there hear nearly 3,600 cases each day.

On Wednesday, court staff stopped working and held a protest.

They were upset about an alleged slap involving an advocate and a court record keeper.

The reported incident happened after an argument.

Many staff members sat together in the middle of the court complex.

Other workers watched from nearby and from upper floors.

They shouted slogans supporting unity among staff.

They also asked for mutual respect between court employees and lawyers.

Because of the protest, court work stopped for the day.
