Telangana High Court Suspends Sports Quota Order
The Telangana High Court has temporarily stopped a previous order that said international sportspersons could get special jobs without filling out a special form called Form-1.
The court wants to think more about this rule.
The government and the TGPSC say that Form-1 is very important for sportspersons to get these special jobs.
The court will make a final decision on January 12.
Telangana High Court suspended a single judge's order that removed the requirement of Form-1 for international sportspersons to claim sports quota reservation.
The single judge had directed the government to follow specific procedures and norms for implementing the 2% reservation for sportspersons in Group-1 and Group-2 services.
The division bench found that the controversy raised substantial questions and granted leave to appeal, suspending the single judge's order.
The TGPSC and the state government argued that Form-1 is essential for establishing eligibility for the sports quota.
The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for January 12.
