IndiGo Raises Pilot Pay Amid Crisis
IndiGo, India's biggest airline, has increased pay for its pilots.
This comes after many flights were canceled, which caused problems for passengers.
The airline is also facing questions from regulators.
The government's aviation safety body, DGCA, has also moved some of its officials around, possibly because of the flight cancellations.
IndiGo is trying to keep its pilots happy and prevent them from leaving for better-paying jobs abroad.
The DGCA is also taking steps to ensure that airlines follow the rules to avoid such problems in the future.
IndiGo has raised pilot allowances to boost morale after mass flight cancellations.
Layover and deadheading allowances have been increased for both captains and first officers.
The DGCA has transferred Director Operations Ravinder Jamwal and replaced him with Ashish Dubey.
The changes follow regulatory scrutiny and a probe into the recent flight disruptions.
IndiGo faces competition from foreign carriers offering better pay to Indian pilots.
