CARA Workshop Promotes Adoption of Children With Special Needs

The Central Adoption Resource Authority held a meeting in Pune about helping children with special needs find permanent families.

The meeting included people who work in adoption, healthcare and child protection.

They talked about how to make adoption easier and safer.

They discussed medical checks, legal rules, costs and ways to handle complaints.

They also shared successful examples and problems from different areas.

The participants said healthcare workers and child-protection officials should work more closely together.

This could help children receive the right support more quickly.

About 150 people from more than 74 districts attended.

The Western Zone includes Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
