Georgia Clarifies Medical Degree Recognition, Aligned with NMC Standards
Georgia's Ministry of Education confirmed that its Medical Doctor (MD) programs meet international standards.
These programs, lasting six years, are equivalent to the MBBS programs.
The Georgian programs are accredited and recognized internationally, including by the World Federation for Medical Education.
Graduates can work as junior doctors, regardless of their citizenship, and the degrees allow alumni to take US medical exams and start post-diploma work.
This also aligns with Indian standards set by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Georgia's MD programs align with international standards and the NMC FMGL 2021.
The programs are accredited by the LEPL National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.

Degrees are recognized by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
