Captain Fresh Withdraws IPO Plans
Captain Fresh, a company that sells seafood to other businesses, has decided to pause its plans to go public.
This means they won't be selling shares of their company on the stock market for now.
They originally planned to raise $400 million through this process, but they had to withdraw their application because they're waiting for approvals for a company they bought in Europe.
The founder, Utham Gowda, said they will try again in early 2026 once they have all the necessary approvals.
Captain Fresh has been busy buying other companies to grow in the European market, including a tuna producer in Spain, a salmon company in Poland, and a shrimp producer in France.
Captain Fresh has withdrawn its IPO papers due to regulatory delays in Europe.
The company plans to refile its IPO papers in early 2026.
Captain Fresh's parent company, Infifresh Foods Ltd, withdrew the IPO papers on December 24.
The company has made three major acquisitions in the European market to strengthen its position.
Captain Fresh is backed by Accel and had initially planned a $400 million IPO.
