GVMC Seals Allipuram Shop, Imposes ₹25,000 Sanitation Fine

City officials found garbage dumped in a public place near a shop in Allipuram.

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation sealed the shop and imposed a fine of ₹25,000.

The commissioner said it could reopen after the penalty was paid.

He warned that businesses and residents could face action for dumping waste on roads, in drains or in public places.

Businesses should keep rubbish in designated bins and hand it to collection vehicles.

Officials were also asked to check that the vehicles collect waste efficiently.

Their schedule should cover homes first and businesses in later rounds.

The city corporation said it would enforce sanitation rules.
