MP: Thousands of Professionals Seek Government Jobs, Unemployment Debate
In Madhya Pradesh, a lot of people, even doctors and engineers, are looking for government jobs.
The government says there are over 25 lakh people registered.
They used to call them unemployed, but now they call them "aspirational youth."
This is because some people already have jobs but want better ones.
However, the number of unemployed people has changed a lot recently, and the government doesn't seem to be providing enough jobs for everyone.
Over 25 lakh job-seekers, including doctors and engineers, are registered on Madhya Pradesh's employment portal.
Graduates form the largest group of registered applicants, numbering 8.3 lakh.
The state government has reclassified job-seekers as "Aakanshi Yuva" or "aspirational youth."
Unemployment figures have fluctuated, dropping from 33.13 lakh in 2023 to 25.68 lakh by June 2025.
The government issued offer letters to only 52,000 youth during the same period.
