Pollock: Slow SA20 Pitches Benefit T20 World Cup Prep
The SA20 cricket tournament has been using slow pitches, which some people don't like.
But Shaun Pollock, a famous South African cricket player who is now a coach, says these slow pitches are good practice for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
He thinks the pitches help players get used to spinning balls.
In a recent match, Pretoria Capitals, the team Pollock coaches, won against Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
A player named Bryce Parsons did really well by scoring runs and taking wickets.
Pollock is happy with his team's performance and thinks they are ready for the final.
He also said that there's plenty of time to prepare better pitches for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Shaun Pollock believes slow SA20 pitches help prepare players for the T20 World Cup.
Pretoria Capitals defeated Sunrisers Eastern Cape by 7 wickets in the SA20 Qualifier 1.
Bryce Parsons played a crucial role with both bat and ball, scoring 60 runs and taking 3 wickets.
Pollock admitted his team's top-order batting needs improvement but praised the team's overall performance.
The T20 World Cup is scheduled to start on February 7, 2024, in India and Sri Lanka.
